Each authority sets its own timeframe for when permits can be renewed before expiry. Most send an email reminder to permit holders in advance of their permits expiring.
To renew your Resident Visitor Permit, simply follow these instructions:
- Log in to myRingGo using your registered mobile (or landline) telephone number and PIN or password combination. If you do not know your RingGo PIN or password, you can retrieve it using the relevant recovery tool. Please ensure you check your Junk/Spam mailbox for delivery of any reminder.
- Under the 'My Permit' heading on the dashboard, click 'View Applications'.
- All historical permit applications will now be displayed. To the far right of your current application, click the displayed 'Renew' icon.
- Review all fields to ensure the information is correct or make amendments where necessary and upload any proofs (if applicable). Click 'Confirm' to submit your renewal application.
If nothing has changed since your original permit application, most councils automatically approve your renewal. However, some do not and in most cases where information has changed, your application is forwarded to the Council for review within five working days and the status is set as 'Pending'. Once the Council have reviewed your application, you will be informed by email that your enquiry has been updated with the decision. The status will be changed to 'Authorised'.
Although there is no lifespan on Richmond Resident Visitors Permits we would recommend that you re-apply with the Council upon reaching the final five sessions of your allocated 120 threshold. This will ensure that your new application is reviewed and if approved, added to your RingGo account ready for use prior to the existing application expiring.
