Resident Visitor Permit Information

All residents living within a controlled parking zone are entitled to apply for virtual resident visitor permits.

Each household is entitled to purchase a maximum of 100 permits per rolling 12 month period. Visitor sessions may be booked via the RingGo App on iOS and Android, this website or by calling 020 3046 0005.

How to apply

Applying for a permit online is a quick and easy three-stage process:

  1. Register or login to your RingGo account
  2. Complete the permit application form
  3. Once your application has been approved, you can purchase your permit(s).

Before you begin

You must provide one document (dated within the last 6 months) with your current name and address. Documents accepted for proof of address are:

  • Driving licence

  • Home contents insurance document

  • Utility bill (gas, water or electricity)

  • Bank/building society statement

  • Tenancy agreement

  • Council tax bill/statement

 

Please note: Folkestone & Hythe District Council Wallets are in the process of being withdrawn from use with RingGo.  If you have an active Wallet, you can continue to use your balance as normal until 2nd February 2026.

Please be aware that if you select the SMS reminders when registering your account, this will incur additional charges. Each Resident Visitor Permit (RVP) session covers one calendar day. A permit must be purchased for each calendar day.
Visitor permits are single vehicle specific, not transferable and must be validated according to the instructions. Your permit must also be renewed every 12 months.
